2PM Thursday, July 5th Delicious Volunteer Opportunity!
Come One, Come All-- It's Berry Picking Season!
We invite you to join us in the Water's Garden for a magnificent harvest. The currants, gooseberries, rasberries are all plump and pretty awaiting your tastebuds. Coming soon this Summer, Beyond Today will be hosting a number of cooking events where we will preserve, puree, cook and bake these tasty morsels--Because who knows what to do with a gooseberry? These classes will let you in on the cullinary secrets of how to use these rare (and normally rather expensive) berries. Your help can help us make the most out of these classes going forward. Take a few home too!
When? 10AM Tuesday, July 3rd and/or 2PM Thursday, July 5th (more dates evenings and weekends in the future) Where? Water's Garden (Sunnyside and Campbell)
These berries are being gathered as a fundraising event for the school and our environmental projects. This is the very first time we are doing this and normally the berries are reserved to school children and families as well as volunteers who tend the garden. You are welcome to join the Water's Garden community by volunteering on Wednesday evenings after 6. Email us if you can't make it but are willing to help with berry gathering for this cause at other times or have special berry using skills which you could share.
